ZUOLIANG LIU

Flute

Zuoliang Liu started learning flute at the age of 7. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Shanghai Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Professor Shengqi He. He earned his Master and Doctoral Degree from Manhattan School of Music, studying with Linda Chesis. Zuoliang Liu has appeared on many prestigious stages and competitions around the world, including the Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center for Performing Arts Washington D.C, Lincoln Center, Golden Bell Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition, the Kobe International Flute Competition, and the Chinese Golden Bell Award.

As a chamber music player, he appeared in the Bowdoin International Music Festival as the recipient of the Kaplan Fellowship in 2014 and 2016. In 2019, he was awarded as the resident artist at Telemann Festival in Magdeburg, Germany. He has collaborated with world-class musicians, such as Lewis Kaplan, Lucie Robert, and Charles Neidich. He also gives solo performances in the U.S., China, Japan, and Germany.
