YI RU
Percussion / Piano
Yi Ru is a versatile musician with a rich musical background and extensive stage experience. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music with a major in Percussion Performance and a minor in Piano Performance. Additionally, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Jazz Vibraphone and Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music, as well as a master’s degree in Jazz Performance from Aaron Copland School of Music on the Queens College.
Yi has served as a piano and percussion teacher in the Shanghai Education Bureau’s Extracurricular Education Program. She has also been the Director of the Contemporary Music Program at the New York Big Apple Music Festival, as well as a judge for the New York International Contemporary Music Competition.
