NAXIN YIN
Violin
Classical violinist Naxin Yin has shown her interest in orchestral performance since she was a teenager. She has held positions in schools as concertmaster, principle second and associate concertmaster, working with such renowned conductors as Kurt Masur, Leonard Slatkin, Itzhak Perlman, and among others. Ms. Yin is currently pursuing her Doctoral degree with Jennifer Frautschi at Stony Brook University. Ms. Yin completed her Master of Music degree on scholarship at The Juilliard School with professor Li Lin. Ms. Yin also obtained her Bachelor of Music degree at the Manhattan School of Music, studying with professor Lucie Robert. Upon graduation, Ms. Yin received the Raphael Bronstein commencement award, which is given to an outstanding violinist. As a devoted chamber musician, she performed with Natasha Brofsky in the 19th Juilliard ChamberFest. In addition to music, Ms. Yin is very fond of creative writing, particularly poetry. Besides writing, she studied European philosophy at Columbia University as an exchange student.
